Nothing beats slurping down extremely fresh oysters, especially during the hot summer in Austin. Despite the city’s landlocked status, there are plenty of places for the shellfish. There are single briny bivalves available, sure, but why stop at that when there are dozens of oysters ahead? Try ’em all.

Right now is the beginning of crawfish season in Texas. This means it’s time to seek out spicy mudbug boils with potatoes, sausage, and corn, special crawfish dishes like etouffee or po’ boys, or even live freshwater crustaceans by the pound to boil on your own.

Rick Wahlberg said he is a man with many interests and experiences, and Shore Raw Bar & Grill—the restaurant he opened in Oak Hill in early 2019—is a way for him to bring food, art and music together. “I’ve been in Austin for 40 years now, and this is something that’s been a longtime dream,” he said.

We’ll make our way to the Texas capital to Shore Raw Bar & Grill where the walls are covered in eye-popping art, the speakers bump iconic music and the kitchen is churning out incredible dishes. While you admire the decor, dig into the bubbly wood-grilled oysters, marbled ribeyes and a show-stopping seafood tower with six different dishes!

Central Texas hasn’t always been a hotbed for lobster fanatics, but luckily those days have passed. The city is now home to a host of lobster bites — from the whole shebang like TLC’s lobster boils to the delicately prepared rolls from Garbo’s to lobster mac and cheese at Perla’s. There’s a lobster dish for every occasion.

Uchi and Hudson’s on the Bend veteran chef Brandon Silver helms the kitchen at this restaurant in Oak Hill that serves a collection of raw plates, tacos and sandwiches at lunch before expanding into a fuller dinner menu that includes roasted halibut and blackened snapper.

Shore Raw Bar and Grill is a new restaurant in Oak Hill located off Highway 71 and it’s this week’s Foodie Friday at KVUE!

Because oysters and margaritas is a pairing aptly suited to springtime in Texas. Inspired by the food traditions of the Gulf Coast—namely Mexico, Louisiana, and Texas—Shore serves specialties like seafood gumbo, whole grilled fish with tortillas, and a seafood tower that captures the best of both worlds: raw bar and fried favorites.

Oak Hill is getting a new seafood restaurant with Shore Raw Bar and Grill. It will be found in the Covered Bridge development at 8665 Highway 71 West. The restaurant was pegged to open this summer, and then the fall, but now it’s set to open next year on Thursday, January 31, 2019, according to an Eater tipster.
